This post is in response to this video:
So the Reach-it Mini and Pro have a diameter of 43mm not including pole skin, giving them a massive diameter. Its not on their website so I cannot verify that.
Unger nLites = 35mm
Gardiner xtreme 22 = 34mm
Gardiner xtreme 35 = 40mm
Gardiner Super Max 45 = 43mm
Gardiner SLX 25 = 34mm
Gardiner CLX 27 = 37mm
Logic will tell you the point where the hand is strongest and where something is comfortable are not the same. We all know we will squeeze a 2" pole with more force than a #2 pencil. But as the 3 flex comparison videos show, the Unger's 35mm is more comfortable to hold than both Reach-its. We're holding poles for long periods of time, not squeezing them until they shatter. So really, all of the above Gardiner poles and Unger will be more Comfortable to hold than the Reach-its, just common sense. Also, the Gardiners are lighter as was mentioned in the first video, so even more ergonomic.
The ironic thing is, the Reach-it Medic campaign could be used by other pole companies to show why they are more ergonomic than Reach-it, not the other way around, found that bit funny.
