Help with my freaking RHG system

Alright guys,

Ive been frustrated long enough with this system time for some much needed help.

First off we bought the system 3-4 years ago from "J.Racinsuck" and they forgot the DI filter which I didn't even think to check if it was in their or not cause I was new to the WFP systems and didn't want to mess it up.

Since then they sent us a free DI filter so that helped.

Anyways, I can't get enough pressure out of the system, even at fully cranked it only gets 85-90 PSI and I know that RO's are best when running at high PSI. Right now after my two RO's I am getting a 77 TDS reading, is that good, or do I need to replace them?

The system is battery powered, so here is another question. - Can I switch out the battery powered pump, for a 110v plug in style pump?

Maybe I should rip it apart and rebuild I dunno? any suggestion would be awesome!

Greetings from the great white north!

Hi all

I really wish I'd come across this site three years ago, when I turned 55. I would have pulled the plug on my gov job right then and there. I'm now looking at retiring in the next couple of months and have been spending a lot of time doing research on WCR for my retirement business. I'm in Whitehorse, Yukon (beside Alaska). There's still plenty of snow on the ground, but temps this week will be above freezing during the day, so Spring is coming!

Cheers

Ross

Carbon fibre ext pole for pressure washing gutters?

Hi all

I've been lurking around this website for a week and this is my first post. What a fantastic resource! I'll be retiring shortly and I think this line of work would be a good fit for me. I'm planning to have gutter cleaning as one of my services and would like to do it from the ground, whenever possible. So I'm planning to get a pressure washer and a long extension pole with a curved piece on the end (don't know what the pros call it) and maybe a Gutter Ball (anyone use this?) I know this is going to be messy, but I'd really prefer to not spend a lot of time climbing and moving a ladder, especially third storey.

Can someone please recommend a lightweight setup for doing residential gutters. Does someone make CF poles for this? I want to be able to reach third storey gutters.

I'm also planning to purchase WFP for windows. Do I have to use a totally separate pole setup for PW?

Thanks

William

Question Bidding on a car dealership. Any experience with these/suggestions?

There's about 100 panes of glass including the doors, plus the garage doors (7). We have WFP system. I have my quote prepared, but wanted feedback from those who have experience with dealerships. What would you bid exterior? or ext & int.? Frequency: Possibly every 4 weeks or quarterly.

Question Grills NO Grills

This past Friday I finished the windows (INT/EXT) on a house, I'd say that I really lucked out on this one because I came across one's that the grills on the windows were removable. They only have 'em on the front of the house, the rest of the home was full glass. After all the time spent cleaning them, I asked the customer which way they liked the view that the house appeared from the front. I gave my two cents, throwing in that the grills to me make a difference causing the issue of the house looking smaller than normal. So my question to you is, what's your stand? Which way do you prefer, grills NO grills? Personally I detest grills, wouldn't have them in any windows at all if it where up to me. The other kind, (GBG) Grill Between Glass are doable to live with the cleaning is easy.

Customers that don't ask for estimates?

Many of you know a good majority of my work comes from referrals, what little advertising I do comes in the from my website, google+ searches, and my trailer graphics. Off the top of my head I would say only about 40-50% of my new customers ask for an estimate. The other 50% of them just want me to put them on my schedule, like the client I had Friday. Toward the end of the day the gentleman asked my if I charged by hour or how I did it? I respectfully said I did it by the window even though I had no idea how many windows were in the house and had no intention of counting them. Customers have always respected my price so I just kind of left it at that and the conversation didn't go any further. How do you guys treat these types?

Marketing Questions for a former Angie's List Employee turned Window Cleaner

I formerly worked at Angie's List on the advertising side of the business. I know the in's and out's of how to become successful, assuming that you make customers happy.

I'm not going to divulge anything that might get me in trouble through something I probably signed when I started working there but I would be more than happy to offer unbiased explanations of things if anybody is interested.

When used properly and with the right mind-set I've seen companies grow tremendously through Angie's List and as a new member thought this would be a good way to contribute as I've taken a lot of information and insight away from this site.

Unger nLite pole

I just got my Unger nLite pole that comes with the Unger DI tank starter kit and the 10' extension that goes with it.

Is it possible to somehow attach the Unger optilock pole tip to the top of this in case I want to attach traditional tools to this pole.

Tired of glue? Protect your clamps

After spending some quality time getting to know JB Weld re-gluing my clamps on my old SLX, I think I figured out why they kept coming unglued.

When you collapse the pole, occasionally the clamps will bang together (even when you're careful, they might still bump). Over time the glue weakens and off pops the clamp. So fix it with electrical tape as seen here on one of my wfp poles:

wfp.jpg

Add electrical tape between the clamps. When collapsing, the tape will act like a shock absorber and should prevent you from having to reglue the clamps.

Also, for you fans of the long pole squeegee, use this on your 24', 30', etc poles (especially the unger teleplus) to prevent them from coming down, slapping you, and ripping a huge chuck out of your thumb or the web of your hand..

Water beading solution?

Hey all. I've got a customer with huge sliding glass doors facing a lake and the glass gets hammered so much with wind and rain that she's calling me every other month or so. They can afford to pay, but I would like to save them some money. Anyone know of any solution to put on the glass to keep it cleaner longer or any chemicals (like rain ex) that would bead the water off? Thanks.

3 section extension ladders - next best thing to sectional?

I just picked up a 3 section 16 footer the other day - hoping it will work out great for inside and outside work.

Seems like the next best thing to a sectional ladder as far as :

1) very lightweight

2) very easy to maneuver

The 3 section 16 footer seems like it will be a lot easier to bring inside the house for the high inside glass than the 2 section version. Significantly lighter than my 22' combination ladder as well.

Any of you rocking the 3 piece ladders?

plus it comes with a convenient carrying strap:

Pure Water System - Choosing which one?

Question Pure Water Systems Question IPC Hydrotube vs Wash-IT Pro

The IPC Eagle Hydrotube and Wash-IT Pro seem to fit with my business model better than other units and I'm having a tough time deciding between the two... any advice? Anybody that used to use one but now uses the other?

I was nearly sold on the Hydrotube but during the demo there was low pressure on site so it didn't work that great, so then I got to researching low pressure and why and found that it seems the Hydrotube isn't intended for full time everyday use and you can burn through a lot of filters quickly.

While I haven't seen the Wash-IT Pro demo'ed, it seems that according to reviews it is better suited for professional use.

Thanks for all the insights!

Reach-It Rhino Clamps

2014-03-27 14.00.22.jpg

So small parcel arrived via DHL this morning. Even though it's almost months end and I'm a 'touch' behind, I thought 'What the heck", just do it...Some really good stuff going on here The horn/arrow lock, the housing slot for the host section. The pin for the top two sections I was a touch squeamish about but what the heck, bit the bullet, and drilled the hole...and, I like it. I believe they're going to be invaluable for those of us who use the swivel squeegees, brushes, Jetstream etc. also the Aquatap action will benefit as well I feel. Action of clamps very smooth, easy to adjust...Field testing over next few days on several different jobs. Initial

Impression is very positive...
